Colorado's largest scholarship cycling event, the Buffalo Bicycle Classic returns on September 7, 2025, inviting riders of all levels to choose from nine unique road and gravel routes through Boulder’s breathtaking canyons and foothills. Since its inception in 2003, this unforgettable ride has raised millions to provide scholarships for high-achieving Colorado students with financial need—so every pedal stroke powers a future Buff's dream. Whether you’re taking on the family-friendly 14-mile Little Buff or the grueling Buff Epic century ride, you’ll be riding for a great cause, soaking in vehicle-free climbs, and experiencing some of Colorado’s best cycling landscapes.
COURSE DETAILS
Nine curated road and gravel courses, including family-friendly options, classic climbs, and technical gravel terrain. The flagship Buff Epic features alpine passes and Boulder Canyon exclusive closure to cyclists.

Boulder city elevation: ~5,430 ft; Maximum course elevation gain: 8,827 ft (Buff Epic century route)
Paved roads, steep alpine climbs (up to 20% grade), technical gravel sections (Switzerland Trail), and scenic canyon routes.
