Pedal for Purpose: Ride Scenic Trails, Support Virginia’s Cycling Legacy

The 2025 Cap2Cap presented by Dominion Energy marks the 20th anniversary of this beloved Virginia Capital Trail Foundation fundraiser. Held May 9–10, 2025, this event lets cyclists of all skill levels enjoy Virginia’s scenic 51.7-mile paved Capital Trail. Riders choose from multiple distances (7 to 100 miles), with an open-start format and flexible locations, all while supporting the expansion and maintenance of the trail. With post-ride celebrations, rest stops, and special 2-Day Challenge options, Cap2Cap is an inclusive and festive ride for the whole cycling community.

COURSE DETAILS

Cyclists ride the Virginia Capital Trail, a 51.7-mile paved multi-use path connecting Richmond to Williamsburg. Participants can select distances from 7 to 100 miles, and enjoy a flexible open-start window (8 AM–4 PM) at any point along the trail. The event includes fully supported rest stops, party zones, SAG support, and scenic routes through historic riverfronts, farmland, and shady forests.
