The Chequamegon MTB Festival, held on September 13, 2025, is a premier off-road cycling weekend in Wisconsin featuring three exciting races: the 40-mile Chequamegon 40, 16-mile Short & Fat, and the Little Loggers race for kids. With routes winding through forest roads, ski trails, and scenic snowmobile paths, this event is as much a family festival as a race, boasting live music, craft beer, food trucks, and a celebratory atmosphere. As part of the Life Time Grand Prix, it attracts competitors of all levels and offers an unforgettable Northwoods cycling experience.
COURSE DETAILS
• Chequamegon 40: 40 miles, from Hayward to Cable, traversing Birkie Ski Trail, forest roads, and snowmobile routes.
• Short & Fat: 16 miles, looping on similar mixed-terrain starting and ending in Cable.
• Terrain includes dirt trails, gravel, and some pavement during the mass start rollout.
