The 2025 Downieville Classic Mountain Bike Race (August 7–10) is a multi-day festival and racing extravaganza held in the high country of California’s Sierra Nevada. Riders tackle a legendary 26.5-mile point-to-point cross-country course from Sierra City to Downieville, featuring a strenuous ascent, a thrilling technical descent, and the vibrant festival atmosphere that welcomes all ages. The event also includes the celebrated All Mountain World Championships, live music, the famous river jump, log pull competitions, a vendor expo, and more, making this one of the most beloved mountain bike weekends in the country.
COURSE DETAILS
26.5-mile point-to-point cross-country route from Sierra City to Downieville, combining steep gravel climbs, sections of rugged singletrack, technical descents (including the infamous 'Baby Heads'), and river crossings. The 2025 course features the new Gold Valley Rim Trail, converting some previous gravel portions to singletrack.
