The Fistful of Dirt is an iconic gravel cycling race held annually in Cody, Wyoming, that offers a true taste of Western adventure amid sweeping Rocky Mountain scenery. Scheduled for August 31, 2025, this event features four challenging route options—20, 40, 60, and 100 miles—all traversing private ranches, rugged hills, and spectacular vistas. Known as a "Best-in-Class" event, Fistful of Dirt combines thrilling off-road terrain with vibrant community festivities, making it a must-do for gravel enthusiasts nationwide.
COURSE DETAILS
Four routes: 20 miles (The Good), 40 miles (The Drifter), 60 miles (The Bad), and 100 miles (The Ugly), all starting in Cody, WY. The 100-mile course features over 5,500 feet of climbing, with steep ascents and a rewarding final descent. Riders traverse a mix of smooth and chunky gravel, packed dirt, single track, rocks, and sandy stretches, with the chance for exclusive ranch access. E-bikes are allowed only in the 20-mile event.
