Conquer historic climbs, celebrate at Virginia City's Bike Fest!

Experience Montana's untamed backcountry during this gravel biking adventure, starting and finishing in the historic mining town of Virginia City. Riders enjoy a choice of three diverse routes (13, 40, or 85 miles), winding through scenic valleys, steep climbs, and exhilarating descents. Families can join the accompanying Bike Fest, complete with food, music, and a creekside recovery for tired legs. While 2025 event details aren't released, the Golden Gravel Grinder has become a must-do celebration for gravel riders and cycling enthusiasts alike.

Offers three routes: Short Stick (13 miles), Stick (40 miles), and Lollipop (85 miles). The long course features a 1,900 ft climb from Virginia City to Ruby Valley, with technical descents and mixed-surface riding. All rides are untimed endurance formats on classic Montana dirt and gravel roads.
