Conquer the iconic Government Trail from Snowmass to Aspen!

The Government Trail MTB Race on July 23, 2025, is a cross-country mountain bike event starting in Snowmass Village and finishing near Aspen, Colorado. Racers traverse the legendary Government Trail, connecting two renowned mountain towns via a mix of singletrack, doubletrack, dirt/gravel, and occasional paved roads. Multiple waves accommodate a variety of competitive and recreational cyclists. Pre-ride preparation is highly recommended, as the route features technical trail sections and significant elevation changes along Colorado’s striking alpine and riverside landscapes.[1]

Starts at Snowmass Base Village, ascends Alpine Springs Access Road, follows Government Trail through Buttermilk and Tiehack, includes riverside riding along Maroon Creek Trail, and finishes with a climb near Aspen Golf Course. Mixed singletrack, doubletrack, and gravel/paved roads.
