The Montana Gravel Challenge is a three-day adventure in Huson, Montana, taking place April 25–27, 2025. Riders of all abilities, including paracyclists, can compete in a blend of timed trials and mass-start gravel stages that feature breathtaking views, challenging climbs, and an authentic Montana cycling experience. This all-inclusive event draws cyclists to push their limits across gravel, dirt, and paved roads in Big Sky country, with post-race gatherings and community spirit at the heart of the weekend.
COURSE DETAILS
Stage 1 (Time Trial): 11 miles, 756 ft elevation gain, 100% gravel/dirt.
Stage 2 (Southside/Petty Road): 56 miles, 3,000 ft elevation gain, 38 miles paved + 18 gravel.
Stage 3 (Rocky Mountain Roubaix): 45 miles, 1,711 ft elevation gain, 27 miles paved + 18 gravel/dirt.

Stage 1: 11 miles; Stage 2: 56 miles; Stage 3: 45 miles.
Huson, Montana elevation: ~3,000 ft / Total elevation gain over all stages: ~5,467 ft.
Mixed gravel, dirt, and paved roads. Stage 1 is 100% gravel/dirt; Stages 2 and 3 feature both paved and gravel/dirt sections.
