The Muddy Onion Spring Classic Gravel Grinder is a beloved springtime event in Montpelier, Vermont. Rather than a competitive race, this gathering invites cyclists of all levels to enjoy the camaraderie of the local cycling community while tackling challenging gravel and dirt road loops. With three routes—20, 40, and 55 miles—riders experience the rolling hills and rural landscapes Central Vermont is known for, supported by hearty aid stations and post-ride festivities. The ride embodies Vermont’s adventurous spirit, all in a fun, welcoming atmosphere.
COURSE DETAILS
Three fully marked loop options: a 20-mile route, a 40-mile classic, and a 55-mile adventure—each featuring gravel and dirt roads, rolling Vermont hills, and sections of spring mud. Riders encounter stocked aid stations and can explore new bike demos a day prior to the ride.
