Pedal under the stars at a cosmic cycling festival!
The Space Race Rumpus 2025 is a family-friendly cycling festival taking place June 6–8 in Green Bank, West Virginia. Hosted at the Green Bank Observatory, the event features a unique mix of road, mountain, and gravel rides and races, with festivities including stargazing tours, bonfires, live music, group meals, and creative campsite contests. From seasoned cyclists to families and kids, everyone enjoys scenic adventures in the radio-quiet zone, surrounded by West Virginia’s breathtaking mountain landscapes.
COURSE DETAILS
• Road rides: 20–50+ miles on scenic, low-traffic routes near radio telescopes
• Mountain bike rides: Trails for beginner to expert
• Gravel race: New for 2025 (distance TBA)
• Kids’ races: 1–3 miles for ages 10 & under to teens
*All rides feature a mix of paved, gravel, and trail sections.
