About

Conquer thrilling single-track trails in North Carolina’s premier mountain bike challenge!

The Sprocket Fuel MTB Race returns for its 4th annual edition on August 9, 2025, at Harris Lake County Park in New Hill, NC. This inclusive mountain bike event features 32 age and skill-based classes with courses ranging from a short 3.5-mile loop up to a challenging 22.5-mile ride using the park's famed single-track system. The race offers categories for all abilities—adapted classes welcome those riding recumbent trikes or handcycles—making it an event for everyone looking to experience the best of the Triangle Area’s off-road riding. Racers will wind through flowing, twisty single-track, tackle varying levels of technical features, and enjoy scenic views of lakes and forested terrain, all as part of the Roadless Races series.

COURSE DETAILS

The course is divided into two main single-track areas: 6.3 miles of more technical single-track north of County Park Drive and 3.4 miles of smoother, less technical trails to the south. Depending on your race category, you’ll complete 1 to 3 laps ranging from 3.5 to 22.5 miles. Adapted classes will use a 1-mile beginner-friendly loop.
